BEN & SALLY {A LITTLE GLIMPSE}

Here are just a few beautiful little glimpses of Ben & Sally’s January wedding at Parkfields Country House. It was my first wedding of 2012 and it started off with a wonderful spark.

GREG & JODIE {COUPLES PORTRAITS AND FER JUARISTI WEDDING WORKSHOP}

This couples post is a special one because it is all thanks to a lovely workshop up north with Aspire and Fer Juaristi.  The lovely and very talented couple, Jodie and Greg are an established wedding photographer and a skilled cabinentry craftsman respectively in Kent. I was thrilled when I heard they would be modeling for us! It was an added bonus to Fer’s workshop.

As for the amazing and talented Fer. Words really do escape me. I have never considered myself one gifted with words or writing so I feel anything I put down here about Fer would not do him justice. He is an incredible and lively soul. The whole workshop in a few words could be described as energetic. inspiring. light. experiment. trust. simplistic. composition. shape. connection. stripped back. I’ll let my images from the day do the rest of the talking.

One of Fer’s goals in his photography, symmetry.

My favourite from the day…

Everything was shot with a Nikon D300s and a 50mm 1.4. My first workshop! So very glad it was. Thanks to everyone involved. For more on Aspire Photography Training go here.

Please leave a little love and support about my hard work from the day. It will be much appreciated x

BIRMINGHAM MIDLANDS VINTAGE CHIC {WEDDING FAIR}

I had the honour of being the event photographer for this autumn’s Vintage Chic Wedding Fair at the Custard Factory in Birmingham. It was truly an honour because the venue was filled full of some of the Midland’s finest in the UK wedding industry displaying all their wonderful and creative products, designs, ideas and services. The event is put together by a dynamic duo- sister team, Cathy Lavictoire and Susie Styler.  These ladies worked very hard to make this event a successful one for all the brides-to-be and was it ever! Here’s some eye candy from this past Sunday.

To start it off here’s the amazing styled setup by Cheryl of Vintage Glamour Days. She had a gorgeous pastel Alice In Wonderland Tea Party setup complete with cupcakes, pocket watches, looking glass, glass bell domes and ‘drink me’-'eat me’ instruction. Cheryl and her family did an amazing job at running the pop-up tea stand for the day’s event. There was a steady stream of brides-to-be and company lined up for teas, coffees and all those mouth-watering cakes!

Look at this delish Victoria Sponge! Yum.yum.

Well since I mentioned cakes, I should talk about the lovely Mum-daughter team that is The Red Cake Company . They were absolutely lovely and had a gorgeous display of some of their finest. They supplied a delicious selection of some of their cakes to taste too!

Love these little cupcakes in the tea cups.

Simon Partridge supplied the soothing sounds for the day. He has a large variety of classics right to set the tone for any 20s, 30s or 40s vintage-inspired affair.

Then there was this stall…we’ll what can I say!?!? Yours truly worked long and hard on providing a stand with inspiration and handmade goodness, which is what I’m all about! I wanted to provide brides not only with my portfolio of images but with inspiration for their own weddings. I had my images strung out on twine behind the stall with handmade paper fans. On the table I provided more loose images for the brides to browse through. I also dressed the table with items I’d bring along to a styled picnic engagement shoot-things like cupcakes, lemonade, biscuits  and flowers.All the paper goods were made by yours truly, but I got some help with the most popular item of my stall that day-the lovely handmade lavender scented birds. My lovely friend, Ruth crafted these fine fabric friends for me as  my business card for the day. She also supplied me with the lovely matching bunting.

A HUGE thanks to my lovely friend Stacy for helping me all day. She was a star at setting up and tearing down everything and most importantly for answering all the questions from the lovely brides-to-be and company.

Lovely and Vintage was on-hand for the day providing a gorgeous selection of vintage gowns, head wear, ring pillows and other accessories.

If your looking for a whimsical feel to your vintage-inspired affair, look no further than Whimsical Wishes. They’ve got loads of love in all the little touches.

And speaking of little touches, you can never go wrong with bunting from none other than The Bunting Queen!

More stunning vintage inspired touches from the Tattered Rose.

Now what is a wedding day without photography?!?!? There was plenty of fine selection on call for the day! Lets start with the spunky and funky, husband and wife team the Barbers. This energy and coffee charged couple produce some stunning images full of love, laughs and sometime just plain funny looks!

Next was the always lovely Nicola of Daffodil Waves. Nicola has a fantastic reportage, relaxed photography style guaranteed to please any couple on their wedding day!

Steve Gerrard was also on hand. This guy is popular for good reason!!! He’s easy to talk to, has a great sense of humor and takes some down right amazing photographs.

And lastly but not the least are the elegant and contemporary images of the lovely Liezl Croft.

Loving all the handmade goodness from My Craftea Day, Meeni , Simply Chic and Paper Me Happy

And now for some photo fun…

Gorgeous florals everywhere. Thanks to Ailsa’s Floral Design, Peppermint and Passion for Flowers

Lovely sweet treats from Emily’s Best

And these funky buttons, some of which look good enough to eat from the creative and talented Beaubuttons.

Now have a look at these fine treats, which I could have snapped away at all day…

These gorgeous works of art are from the talented hands of Tracy James at Cotton & Crumbs. I would absolutely love to have one of her cakes for my wedding day, but I wouldn’t have the heart to cut into it!

Always a marvelous selection of handcrafted goodness from the team at Garden Studio Crafts

The always popular and stunning work of Lynsey of Le Keux Events. Guaranteed a good time for vintage styling hen night parties and to look your absolute best on your wedding day!

And on that note, thank you for stopping by and reading through my take of the day. Hope all the lovely 2012 and 2013 brides have the wedding and the marriage of their dreams.

Leave some love about my photos or your favourite part of the fair below x

GAVIN & KATE {NEWLY WED}

The day started off a quite and calm one. The sun was shining, there was a cool breeze and the smell of rosemary from the gorgeous wedding bouquets that had just arrived at Gavin & Kate’s home. There were lots of foot steps up and down the stairs, appearance of tears and a glowing bride ready to make her way to her groom to wed in a lovely little historic barn at a quaint little place in Evesham. The simplicities of life and the beginning of a new one together have some many lovely and little details…and I truly enjoyed capturing them all on this special day with Gavin, Kate and all their family and friends. I felt I was a part of the celebration, so in the evening when they invited me and my assistant photographer to stay and dance…we danced like there was no tomorrow. That is a great wedding and a wonderful way to start a marriage.

Please leave some love for the couple below in comments…

LOVE IN FOUR FRAMES, BEN & SALLY {A LITTLE GLIMPSE}

This is a quick little glimpse of a lovely little time I spent last weekend with a future bride and groom for a January 2012 wedding. I had a great couple of hours getting to know and photograph Ben & Sally and eventually their two kids (their gorgeous German Sheperds) at Sally’s parents home in Eastnor. It was a fabulous way to end that beautiful and unseasonable hot first October weekend. Hope you enjoy these…

More to come soon!
